Anyways Racing Team Claims IRC 0 Class Championship at the 55th Turkish Naval Forces Cup

After the racingyachts.com team sold Anyways Racing Team their Cape 31, they capped off a whirlwind debut regatta by winning the IRC 0 class at the 55th Turkish Naval Forces Cup (Navy Cup), held July 11–14 and organized in partnership with TAYK 1971 and Güney Yarışı.

The regatta was raced in two offshore legs:

Leg 1 — Istanbul to Bozcaada: 165 nautical miles, completed in 1 day, 2 hours, and 34 minutes. 1st place, IRC 0.

Leg 2 — Bozcaada to Çeşme: 100 nautical miles, completed in 8 hours and 36 minutes. 1st place, IRC 0 and first place Overall.

Two legs, two class wins, and an overall championship in IRC 0.

What makes the result stand out is the timeline behind it. The team took delivery of their new boat just four days before the race started. In that window, they had to prepare the boat, dial in the crew, and get ready for a demanding offshore course — 265 nautical miles in total across the Istanbul–Bozcaada–Çeşme route, including preparation sailing. Niall Malone of Racing Yachts flew in to help the Anyways Racing team put the boat together before it went on to win the regatta.

As the team put it:

Looking Ahead

The Navy Cup was the new boat's first race, and the team has made clear this is just the start. With one championship already on the board, Anyways Racing Team says they'll keep learning the boat, sharpening performance, and raising the bar at every regatta to come.
